    David

An excellent summary of where we are now and have been for the last several decades. Entrenched self interest.

The challenge is – how do you change it? The “take it in turns – us and them” is deeply rooted in our culture and reinforced by all sides at every opportunity. It’s not in their interest to encourage the electorate to think beyond the status quo.

How to break this self-perpetuating cycle of abuse, because abuse is what it is.

As you say – we are awash with clever, capable people who do actually care more for others than for themselves. The problem is they are smothered by the greedy (also very clever) few.

Is it any wonder our youth are leaving at the first opportunity. Why would they stay when they can see they can realise their true value and be welcomed elsewhere?

One thing’s for sure, turkeys don’t vote for Christmas, any change will need to be driven from the bottom up and maybe an independent President is the first step. A rallying point for those who will vote and work hard for sanity.

This a great idea Uncle David.

I had been in deep thoughts of such a concept for a very long time until Mr. Wilson came out with his views.

As someone I have admired for a very long time, I was very pleased to see your article in the Daily Graphic and its very heart warming that we share something in common, a passion to see Ghana succeed in an unconventional away.

Being the Black Star of Africa and after having chalking several \’firsts\’ in various fields of endeavour, I strongly believe we can chart our own political system of democracy beginning with this proposed giant step.

I wish many like minded people will join the campaign for such a great change in the status quo.

Baba getting like minded people together is critical. It’s not always easy but we must find a way.
